SECRETARY FOR EDUCATION COMMENDS MARAPE GOVERNMENT FOR FULL RELEASE OF TERM 3 TUITION FEE GRANTS

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Marape/Rosso Government, our esteemed Minister Hon Lucas Dawa Dekena MP, and the Prime Minister Hon. James Marape MP for their unwavering support in ensuring that students have access to quality education this year. Your dedication and commitment to the GTFS Policy have made a significant difference in the lives of the 2.4million students and millions of parents.

I am pleased to announce that this week, a total of 558 Secondary, National Schools of Excellence, and Vocational Centres will receive K109.097 million, covering both their 3rd Quarter GTFS and Project fee grants. Additionally, we have received K106.5 million, which will be allocated to Elementary, Primary, FODE, and Inclusive Education Resource Centres by next week.

From this year's budget allocation of K850,935,800.00, we have received and by next week successfully released funding for Quarters 1 to 3, totalling K638,940,695.00, with a remaining balance of K211,995,105.00 for Quarter 4.

I urge all school administrations to use these funds wisely, focusing on priority areas that will enhance teaching and learning within their institutions. As we approach the end of the academic year and the national examinations, it is crucial for schools to allocate some of these resources to support our students in their preparations.

Once again, I would like to express our appreciation to the national government for its commitment to providing necessary funds to our schools, even amid the challenging economic climate. Together, let us ensure that learning continues effectively with the resources provided. Thank you.
