Primary education begins at Grade 3 and finishes in Grade 8. It caters for the nine to fourteen year age group. Lower primary education comprises Grades 3 to 5, and upper primary Grades 6 to 8.
At 9 years of age children continue their basic education in a primary school. After six years of primary education that begins with a bilingual program, children have the skills to live happily and productively, contribute to their communities and use English to understand basic social, scientific, technological, and personal concepts and value learning after grade 8.
